Production Supervisor
Overall purpose of job: Responsible for facilitating, coaching, and educating the respective team to achieve team goals, company goals and customer delight. In addition, supervisor the teams to progress through the levels of empowerment and skill development to become high performance WCM teams. Incumbent is responsible for team comply with the established Quality & Security policies and regulations.

Main activities / tasks:

  • To lead the team to achieve the pre-set targets
  • Initiate improvement projects
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports
  • Perform appraisals at specified intervals and proactively provide feedback to the team members. The supervisor plays a key role in the development of new team members and in ensuring they have a good understanding of the requirements of their position and are working towards meeting and exceeding the same in a defined time period
  • Through education/work experience master facilitative management style, technical skills and professional skills, supervisor is expected to contribute to the continuing evolution of Gemalto World Class Manufacturing. Key demonstration of the same is in coaching the teams during root cause analysis performed in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance and support plant initiatives with Gemalto policies and clients requirements
  • Completes special assignments as requested by management
  • Other features of job: shift or night work, travel, working conditions, etc
  • Overtime expected from time to time
  • Adaptive to continual learning in a fast-changing environment & work towards achieving manufacturing excellence
  • Able to handle 1st level work grievances & disciplinary cases
  • Ability to interface directly with customers
Knowledge and skills:
  • Related industry knowledge (Smartcard mfg) or semi-conductor industry knowledge will be an added advantage
  • Customer services skills and experience dealing with customer will be an added advantage
Education, qualifications, and special training:
  • Preferably engineering, diploma or certificate graduate with relevant working experience
  • Good Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) skills
  • Technically inclined (preferably with previous experience in mechanical handling of related machinery)
  • Good spoken and written English
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years' of shift/team leader or supervisory capability in high volume, high tech environment
Personality requirements:
  • Self motivated with strong leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with customers
  • Possess initiative to handle improvement & upgrading activities
  • Able to work well in fast paced environment
