Job Title: Sr. Planning Analyst

The Joint Ventures and Planning department manages Talisman’s interest in its non-Operated assets (including Corridor PSC, Tangguh LNG, SES PSC and the TGI pipeline), along with being responsible for all internal planning activities (Annual Plan, Reforecast, economic analysis etc). In addition, the department assists other departments in delivering their objectives, including Business Development, Marketing, Finance and Corporate Affairs.

This position is a part of the Planning section of the department, although it will be closely linked to the activities of the Joint Venture section. Key responsibilities will center on the development and maintenance of economic models ensuring they are up to date and reflect an accurate view of the business, for use in the ongoing reforecast and Plan cycles and commercial evaluations.

Reporting to the Planning Supervisor as one of a team of analysts, the position will likely be designated a selection of assets to manage and would be expected to become a central resource for all analysis relating to that asset, including participation in the annual reserve cash flow process, impairment testing, performance management reporting and supporting investment proposals amongst other processes. As an accountable asset ‘owner’, the candidate would be expected to become an expert on the asset. This would be achieved via building and maintaining relationships with the partner (operator), from attending partner meetings and contacts, to gather data, synthesizing that information into existing models, fully understanding operating and capital variances, trends, and impact on asset value and effectively communicating that information upward.

As well, the position will interact with other departments within the organisation in the role of asset expert, assisting the Business Development, Finance and Marketing departments in their processes. A proactive attitude, together with being able to communicate effectively and clearly, is expected.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
  • A good Bachelor degree in economics, commerce, management or similar discipline
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in an upstream oil and gas company.
  • Experience in conducting economic evaluations and familiarity with oil and gas economic software (PEEP, GEM, Palantir, etc).
  • Strong excel skill (specifically the ability to build PSC economic models from scratch)
  • Prior experience in a financial or accounting role will be an asset
  • Excellent communication skill, able to summarize large amount of information concisely. Power point & presenting skills will be an asset

This senior position is seconded into one of the Talisman Joint Operated Businesses and is based at the operating station in South Sumatera. Reporting to the Field Superintendent, the Senior Production Supervisor leads the Production Operations Team and is responsible for coordinating and undertaking activities in accordance with the site plan. HSE matters are of the utmost importance, so while striving to operate in as efficient and productive a manner possible, maintaining the very high HSE standards employed at site are of the up most importance. This position requires significant oil and gas operational experience, much of which must be acquired in a senior supervisory role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate control of wells to ensure that production and injection is optimized.
  • Oversee well intervention activities and coordinate accurate maintenance of well files.
  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of various production reports.
  • Supervise operation of oil and gas processing systems and ancillary utility systems.
  • Control oil stock status, coordinate planning and export of product.
  • Take a leading role in all HSSE/OA initiatives, routines and reporting.

This position requires a senior geophysicist to develop opportunities primarily in i) an existing deep-water operated block and ii) in infrastructure-led high value business opportunities that are focused on building Talisman’s position in South Sumatra. The candidate will be ‘hands-on’, will have strong Petrel skills, will be innovative in approach and will be required to have strong mentorship skills

Responsibilities :
  • As lead geophysicist in the Jakarta office, provide comprehensive and thorough 2D/3D seismic interpretation studies for the deep-water Andaman III block, onshore Sumatra and Java, regional new ventures, and as directed.
  • Will lead the geophysical activity within the Jakarta Expl office.
  • Will provide interpretation expertise to define fault frameworks, generate prospectivity in a variety of environments and to provide overall geophysical technical guidance to the Jakarta exploration team.
  • Conduct various detailed interpretational studies to support operated, non-operated and new ventures activity, on going farm-ins and data rooms as required.
  • Generate time and depth maps on key stratigraphic horizons from 3D and 2D datasets. Perform depth conversion and generate detailed prospect maps. Conduct as required, attribute analyses and amplitude maps to support prospectivity assessments.
  • Integrate well data and sequence stratigraphic and biostrat analyses for regional and new ventures mapping activities.
  • Develop and assist with play risk maps and play fairway analyses.
  • Oversee and contribute to the seismic acquisition planning in all Indonesian activities.
  • Oversee seismic operations in conjunction with regional teams. Assist in the processing and reprocessing of seismic data.

Qualification :

This is a senior position suitable for a HSSE/OA professional with experience at HSE Manager/Superintendent level within the Oil and Gas Industry. The HSE Specialist shall, in conjunction with other JOB Management Team members, prepare the HSSE/OA plan for the business and oversee implementation of same. This position supervises a team of HSE professionals based in the central office and also at the site location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate excellent safety leadership at all times. Lead by example and encourage safety excellence in accordance with Talismans commitment to HSE matters.
  • Take the lead in preparation of an extensive HSSE/OA plan for the business that covers all aspects of HSE and then oversee implementation of the plan.
  • Assist JOB and Talisman HSE and regional practitioners to prepare HSEMS, various plans, budgets and other HSE Support. Wherever necessary present or disseminate same.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual HSSE/OA department reports and present them to the JOB, Talisman, government authorities etc. as required.
  • Provide HSE technical and operational support to all aspects of the business as required, whether that be Risk Assessment, Management of Change administration, the preparation of procedures etc.
  • Act as a conduit between Talisman and the JOB, sharing information and implementing initiatives etc as necessary.
  • Ensure JOB practices comply with, and procedures adequately cover, current Indonesian HSE legislation or relevant International standards.
  • Coordinate all external HSE reporting required by legislation, the JOB and Talisman.
  • Organize, and where necessary conduct, the training and coaching necessary to establish and maintain an excellent HSE performance throughout the JOB.
  • Maintain and test the Emergency Response capability within the JOB. Participate as a team member of the Emergency Response Team for Jakarta Office and Field/JOB.
  • A Bachelors Degree in a relevant Industry discipline, i.e. Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health or other related subject, ideally complimented with a formal HSE qualification (NEBOSH or similar)
  • A thorough in-depth knowledge of regulatory permitting and approval processes and reporting requirements is essential.
  • Minimum of 12 years experience of the HSE issues found in Indonesia within major in oil and gas industry organizations. Demonstrable experience of safety inspections and auditing, HSEMS and dealing with operational/drilling HSE activities and challenges is a must. Experience of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 implementations and audit would be of benefit.
  • Proven experience and a good understanding of HSE Risk Assessments, inc. HAZOP, HAZID, JSA, Modern Safety Management, ISO 14001/EMS standards etc.
  • Previous experience of working within a multi national environment, 5 years of which shall be in a senior supervisory or management position.
  • Experience gained within a large onshore drilling and production operation is advantageous.
